I am not a big fan of weightless flutter kicks. While they are fun to try out and fun to photograph, I know that they are a great way to get you into the right gear when your heart is racing. But do you really want to get in the habit of doing them while you are stressed? I am not saying to put them on all the time, but to do them enough times to get the habit going.
I do, but I think you are better off not trying to get into the habit. It could be very unhealthy.
I agree with you. Although when I first tried it I did it all the time. I did it for weeks and weeks. That is one reason I am not a fan. I could not get into the habit I wanted to get into.
You might be right. The first time you try the weighted flutter kick on a long workout, it might take you longer to relax and the tension build up in your heart. The problem with this habit is that the more you do it to get into the habit, the harder it gets to do it. And then it becomes an obsessive thing, not a part of your daily routine.

Weighted flutter kicks is a fairly new exercise program, but you may remember the weighted flutter kick from your high school cross-country days. It was one of those conditioning exercises where you literally lift a weight and you had to do it for a set amount of time before you could do it again. I think we can all agree that getting to the gym is a lot of work. I think the problem is that it takes a couple of hours of commitment before you feel like you’re getting into the habit of doing it.
So why do we think it is? I think the biggest one is we don’t know why we’re doing it. You can probably guess why it takes so long now. If youre going to do something, like weight training, you’re going to have to do it for a while to get used to it before you can really enjoy it. And it seems like the only way to get used to it is to do it for a long time.
