When we think about our eyes we actually think about the area around them, the eyes themselves, and the eyes behind them. When we think about ourselves, we think about our self. Our eyes, our self, and our bodies are three levels of self-awareness.
Our eyes are the windows to our souls. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to see. A good driver can be a good driver without even looking at the road, for example. A good driver doesn’t need to look at the road to see if she should do a certain move.
Well, that’s a good analogy, but it’s only partially true. We think about our eyes not because we’re looking at the road, but because we’re looking inside ourselves. So when we think about our eyes we’re really thinking about the eyes that are behind them. We actually think about ourselves in the same way, but we think about those eyes not because we’re looking at a camera, but because they’re watching us.
When we do this, we think we are focusing on our own eyes, but really we are looking at the eyes behind us. So if our eyes were really focused on the camera, we would look at the reflection on the lens and not just look at the camera.
This is a common occurrence in our society, where people look at a camera and think, “Oh, that’s me.” But the fact is that our eyes are looking not only at cameras, but at a multitude of other things in the world as well. The most common example of this is when we look at our own reflection in the mirror we are focusing on.
This is the case with our eyes. When we look at the camera we are focusing not only on the camera, but on things in the world around us. The most common example of this is when we look at the mirror we are focusing not only on the mirror, but on things in the world around us. We can’t help but think about our eyes every time we look in the mirror. This is because our eyes are part of our body that can be viewed by the world around us, so our eyes have an important role in the world around us. And in fact, the best way to learn about the world around us is to look at it.
How interesting! Well, it’s not actually that interesting because we’re always thinking about our eyes when we look at the mirror. What is interesting is when we actually stop thinking about our eyes, start thinking about the world around us (and therefore the parts of our body we are using as a lens), and start thinking about our eyes. Or if you’re like me, you don’t even look at the mirror until you’ve been talking to someone for a long time.
I’ve noticed that, as I’ve gotten older, my eyesight has gotten better. I can see 20 feet away and I can clearly distinguish between the colors of the buildings across the street. But I still think about my eyes a lot. The thing is, I don’t have any real self-awareness about this. I don’t think about the color of my eyes when I look in the mirror, I just look at the reflection.
This is where my “self-awareness” analogy falls apart. If I think about my eyes when I look in the mirror, I am consciously thinking about the color of my eyes. But what is the point of this? Is it important to my eyesight? If I look at my reflection in the mirror, am I consciously thinking about the color of my eyes? No. That’s why I don’t look in the mirror. I simply look at the reflection.
