As you’re probably aware, the concept of “self-awareness” is a confusing one to many people. In fact, I had the great fortune of having a law professor at UC Berkeley teach me a little about it. In the Law School’s real estate law class we had to learn about the concept of “self-awareness” and a little about the various ways that self-awareness is taught. One of the ways that is taught is through self-awareness questions.

According to the definition of self-awareness, in order for a person to be self-aware, they must be able to fully identify their own thoughts, feelings, and motivations, and be able to accept responsibility for these. In other words, self-aware people are responsible for their own actions. Self-awareness is a very important concept in law and therefore we must always be aware that we are not self-aware.
